Dear Ignite Family:

Safe, Fun, and Learn… that is our motto.

With the recent outbreak of COVID 19 (the Coronavirus) – and based on the needs of the population we serve, and to help keep everyone, our staff, students, and volunteers safe. We have made the decision to end our season effective immediately.

As of this letter there are no reported cases in Boulder County. Neither Ignite nor Eldora has reported any cases, in fact, Eldora remains open for business.

Ignite has made this decision based on the high risk community we serve. The key to reducing the spread of the virus includes social distancing and cancelling large group gatherings, especially for those at higher risk.

Given that Ignite is housed in two small trailers that on the slowest of days doesn’t allow for “social distancing”; the limited ability to keep the location free of germs and the fact that our students and volunteers are in tight quarters in a large group, cancelling the reminder of the season is the responsible thing to do.

We know and understand that this will come as a disappointment to both our volunteers and our students, yet, safety is our greatest concern.—This was not an easy decision to make—but doing the right thing is sometimes hard.

We had a great season, with epic snow days.  We are grateful for each of our volunteers and their commitment to the best adaptive athletes in Colorado.  Stay safe and healthy, and we look forward to seeing everyone next season.

COVID-19 can be especially dangerous for those at higher risk including people:

  • 60 years old and older
  • With underlying health conditions including heart disease, lung disease, or diabetes
  • Who have weakened immune systems
  • Who are pregnant
